Comparison · 13 apps · checked October 19, 2026

The best specialty coffee apps of 2026.

Most coffee apps do one thing: find cafés or help you brew at home. Cupd does both, matched to your taste.

It shows you which café is pouring coffee you’ll like today, and turns the bag on your counter into a recipe for your grinder.

What Cupd does differently

  1. 01

A Taste Match for every café

Every café gets a Taste Match score that shows how well its offer suits you, from the coffee in the hopper to the brewing methods. Four of the five factors come from the hopper: when the coffee changes, so does the score.

    Weights: favorite roasters 31 %, processing 21 %, origin 17 %, flavor notes 14 %, all from the hopper, 83 % together; brewing methods 17 % from the café.

  2. 02

    What the café pours today

Every café has certain coffees in its hopper, the bean container on the grinder. Cafés enter which ones they are, and guests can report the coffee they see there. Once a second guest confirms it, it counts toward Taste Match.

2 guests: one reports the coffee, a second confirms it, then it counts

  3. 03

Your AI Brew Assistant at home

Scan the bag, and the AI Brew Assistant in Brew Lab writes a recipe for your grinder and filter. Guided Brew walks you through each step with a timer. If the cup isn’t right, tell the assistant what to change and it adjusts the recipe.

How we checked

We chose the five points because Cupd is built for them, and we say so openly. Together they answer two questions: where can I get a good coffee today, and how do I brew mine at home?

For every other app we used what the provider says on its website and in the app stores, checked on October 19, 2026. A dot is full when the description covers the point, half when it covers part of it, and empty when the point is missing or not described. A full dot counts 1 point, a half dot ½. Pick a dot in the table to see its reason. Cupd’s dots come from the app’s code.

Something wrong or missing? Write to us at hello@cupd.app, and we’ll check it.

Questions
Which app shows specialty cafés in Berlin?

European Coffee Trip, Roasters, Beany and Kava all list Berlin cafés. Beany started in Berlin and shows which roasters each café pours. Cupd starts in Berlin too and ranks cafés by the beans they have in the hopper today. It runs in your browser now, and the iPhone app is in a private beta.

Is there a Vivino for coffee?

Several apps try. Kava lets you rate single coffees in cafés, Siip and Specialty Atlas score beans against your taste, and CoffeeBee learns your taste from the cups you log. Cupd takes the idea to cafés: one score per café for what it pours today.

Which coffee apps are free?

Most can be used for free. Beany, Roasters and Filtru have paid Pro tiers, and at Coffee Master the first three scans are free. Timer.Coffee and Beanconqueror are open source with no subscription. Cupd has no subscription; every month includes 4 bag scans and 12 AI Brew Assistant requests.

Is Cupd available on Android?

Not as an app so far. On Android you can use Cupd in the browser at my.cupd.app. The iPhone app is in a private beta.

How up to date is this comparison?

The date at the top shows when we last checked every app. Apps change fast, so check the provider’s page through the source links before you decide.
