Is there an Untappd for coffee?

Partly. Roastguide lets you check in a cup and rate it, and TheBeanGeek suggests coffees from your ratings. Cupd brings the part of Untappd that bars use, the live menu, to cafés: it shows the coffee in a café’s hopper today, as the café or its guests entered it, and scores it against your taste.

Check in a cup: Roastguide and Kava

Roastguide lets you check in any cup with a rating and a note, at home or in a café, and photograph a bag to get its details. It is free and only on iPhone. Kava was built as an Untappd for specialty coffee: you rate single coffees in cafés, and home brewing is not part of it. On November 7, 2026 its iPhone app was not in the App Store, and the Android app was last updated in November 2024.

The live menu: what a café pours today

On Untappd, bars and shops publish what they have, and you follow them for updates. In specialty coffee the same question is which beans are in the grinder today. Cupd answers it with the hopper: the café enters it, guests report and confirm the bag, and your Taste Match moves with the coffee. Where nobody has entered the hopper yet, Cupd shows no coffee for that café. Specialty Atlas shows it for cafés that maintain “Beans on bar”.

Logging coffee at home

TheBeanGeek runs in the browser: you log and rate coffees, and on the paid plan (€4.49 a month) it suggests new ones. Tasting Grounds logs your brews and shows how others brew the same beans; Pro costs $2.99 a month. Beanconqueror logs beans, brews and roasts, works with Bluetooth scales, and is free and open source. None of the three describes a café ranking.

Where Cupd fits

In Cupd you save coffees in your Stash and give them stars. After each brew you check the cup, and that steers the next recipe for this coffee. In a café you report the bag you see in the hopper, earn points for it, and keep everyone’s Taste Match current.
